A main contractor is seeking an ambitious and motivated Assistant Site Manager to join their growing team delivering social housing refurbishment projects across Sunderland. Working alongside the Site Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of planned maintenance and refurbishment of internal works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role
- Assist the in the day-to-day management of refurbishment projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site operatives to ensure works progress efficiently.
- Monitor health and safety compliance and promote a positive safety culture on site.
- Carry out quality inspections and ensure work meets client specifications and company standards.
- Support the management of project programmes and help maintain delivery deadlines.
- Liaise professionally with tenants, client representatives, and stakeholders.
- Assist with site documentation, reports, inspections, and records.
- Conduct property inspections, snagging, and handovers.
- Help manage material deliveries and site logistics.
- Support the resolution of site issues and customer concerns.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience within refurbishment on social housing projects.
- Understanding of planned maintenance and refurbishment works.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced site environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and site practices.
