A residential developer is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Site Manager to work on an exciting building conversion project, transforming an existing property into residential apartments for 4 weeks in Northumberland.
Key Responsibilities

Assisting the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of the construction site.

Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.

Monitoring works against programme, drawings and specifications.

Carrying out regular quality inspections and ensuring defects are identified and addressed.

Supporting the management of health, safety and environmental requirements on site.

Ensuring materials, plant and labour are available when required.
-
Maintaining good housekeeping and site presentation.
-
Attending site meetings and providing progress updates.
-
Assisting with site records, permits, inspections and daily reports.

Liaising with architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Helping coordinate the various trades involved in the conversion, including structural works, M&E, drylining, kitchens, bathrooms and finishes.

Supporting the Site Manager through the final stages of the project, including snagging, testing, commissioning and handover.
Experience Required:
-
Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar working on refurbishment, conversion or residential construction projects.

A good understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site management.

Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

Strong communication and subcontractor management skills.

Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.

The ability to work independently while supporting the wider project team.

Relevant site qualifications such as SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid are essential
