I'm recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a well-established principal contractor based in South Tyneside.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the procurement function across projects throughout the North East and Scotland.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including:
- Procuring materials, plant and subcontractors
- Raising and issuing purchase orders
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and site teams
- Resolving supplier invoice queries
- Managing existing supplier rebate agreements and identifying new opportunities
- Overseeing the company fleet and supporting the procurement of other direct and indirect spend categories, including plant.
The Person
- You'll have:
- Proven procurement experience within the construction industry
- A strong network of contacts across the construction supply chain
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- The ability to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Fleet management experience would be advantageous but is not essential
Remuneration
£45,000 to £60,000
