An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civils Small Works Manager to oversee
environmental and civils-focused works across the North East and Yorkshire region. The
position involves leading multiple projects, ensuring safe delivery, programme adherence, and
quality outcomes.

A well-established civil engineering contractor delivering environmental improvement schemes
along watercourses, river and coastal works, flood alleviation projects, and small infrastructure
upgrades across the UK. The business is known for delivering technically challenging projects
with a strong commitment to safety and sustainable construction.
Role
• Manage a portfolio of small environmental and civil engineering projects from planning
through to completion.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery.
• Monitor progress, budgets, and risk, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Oversee quality, environmental, and health & safety compliance across all works.
• Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, statutory bodies, and project
partners.
• Support tender reviews, method statements, and project planning activities.
Experience Required
• Proven experience managing environmental or civil engineering projects, ideally river,
coastal, flood alleviation, or remediation works.
• Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects safely, on time,
and within budget.
• Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction management
(HNC/HND/Degree).
• SMSTS, CSCS, and a full UK driving licence.
Remuneration
£45,000 to £55,000 per annum plus vehicle and benefits package.
