An experienced Contracts Manager is sought to join a privately owned construction company delivering building and refurbishment projects across the North East. This is a permanent opportunity offering a key leadership role within a stable and well-regarded business.

The company delivers a range of building and refurbishment schemes across sectors including commercial, education, healthcare and public sector works. The Role

The Contracts Manager will oversee multiple building and refurbishment projects, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing several projects simultaneously from pre-construction through to completion

  • Overseeing Site Managers and project teams

  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards

  • Monitoring financial performance, budgets and reporting

  • Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships

  • Contributing to programme planning and resource allocation

Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within building and refurbishment

  • Background working for a main contractor

  • Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation

  • Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) desirable

Remuneration

  • £55,000 to £60,000 per annum
