A permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead to join a large-scale infrastructure project in Northumberland. This is a key position with responsibility for maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental performance across a complex project environment.
The Company
A major infrastructure organisation delivering a significant project in Northumberland, operating within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. The project offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting strong EHS standards throughout its delivery.
The Role
The EHS Lead will provide leadership and guidance on all environmental, health and safety matters across the project. Responsibilities will include developing and implementing EHS strategies, ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance, undertaking audits and inspections, managing risk, and promoting a strong safety culture across project teams and contractors.
Experience Required
- Proven experience in a senior EHS/HSE role, ideally within large-scale infrastructure, construction or engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Experience of risk assessments, audits, inspections and incident management.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong understanding of contractor management and project-based EHS requirements.
- Relevant EHS qualifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent are highly desirable.
