An experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor is required to join a major civil engineering project valued at approximately £30 million. This is a 60-week contract offering the opportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure scheme, supporting the commercial delivery from site through to project completion.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, including subcontractor procurement and management, valuations, cost reporting, change control, contract administration, and final accounts. Working closely with the project delivery team, the role will ensure commercial objectives are achieved while maintaining strong contractual compliance throughout the scheme.
Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering sector.
- Experience working on large infrastructure or heavy civils projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain accurate commercial records.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred.
Remuneration
- Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience.
