We are currently seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a major infrastructure project in Redcar on a freelance basis. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of a section of works, ensuring projects are completed to programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
The Role
- Working closely with the Project Manager, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and client representatives, you will take ownership of site operations and drive performance across all aspects of project delivery.
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works on site.
- Lead site teams, including Engineers, Supervisors, and subcontractors, to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme, budget, specification, and quality standards.
- Review construction methodologies and ensure appropriate resources are in place to meet project requirements.
- Prepare, review, and implement method statements, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Monitor progress and productivity, identifying and implementing solutions to mitigate delays and risks.
- Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring contractual and operational obligations are met.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health and safety legislation, environmental standards, and company procedures.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Oversee quality assurance processes, inspections, testing, and completion documentation.
- Contribute to commercial awareness through accurate record keeping, progress reporting, and change management.
Experience / Qualifcations
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience working as a Site Agent on major infrastructure, highways, utilities, rail, or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and project delivery processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Sound knowledge of UK construction standards, CDM regulations, and health and safety legislation.
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts and coordinate site resources effectively.
- CSCS Card (essential).
- SMSTS qualification (essential).
- Temporary Works Coordinator qualification (desirable).
- First Aid at Work qualification (essential).
Remuneration:
- £375.00 - £450.00 per day (dependent on experience)
