An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Site Engineer to join a well-established engineering and environmental consultancy operating across the North East. This permanent position offers involvement in a wide range of ground investigation and remediation projects, supporting major infrastructure and development schemes.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and delivering geotechnical site investigations and remediation works. Duties will include logging of soil and rock, undertaking in-situ testing, phase 1 studies and phase 2 investigations, preparation of remediation strategies and verification plans, and carrying out settlement calculations. Additional responsibilities will include stock control, monitoring contract performance awareness, and ensuring all site activities are completed in line with technical and health & safety standards.
Experience Required
- Previous experience within a geotechnical or ground investigation environment
- Strong understanding of phase 1 studies and phase 2 investigations
- Experience with logging soil and rock samples
- Knowledge of in-situ testing procedures
- Ability to prepare remediation strategies and verification plans
- Competent in undertaking settlement calculations
- Good awareness of contract performance and project delivery
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
