A large, well-established contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to work on a water infrastructure scheme in Teesside. Ideally, candidates will have previous experience working in the water sector.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Support the delivery of a water infrastructure scheme, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget
- Coordinate day-to-day site activities
- Ensure compliance with UK water industry standards, client specifications (e.g., Northumbrian Water), and relevant legislation
- Assist with planning, programming, and progress reporting against agreed project milestones
- Monitor quality of workmanship, ensuring installations meet design and technical requirements
- Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards, including RAMS and toolbox talks
- Support commissioning, testing, and handover of completed works
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, as-built information, and progress reports
- Identify and help resolve technical or site-based issues to minimise disruption and delays
Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on water infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with Northumbrian Water or other UK water sector standards
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering, utilities, or water sector installations
- Ability to manage multiple site activities and coordinate subcontractors effectively
- Competent in using site documentation, reporting, and progress tracking
Remuneration:
- £325 - £400 per shift (dependent on experience)
