An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established civil engineering subcontractor delivering housing infrastructure projects across the North East of England. The Company

A respected civil engineering subcontractor with a strong regional presence and a proven track record in housing infrastructure. The business delivers roads, sewers, drainage, and associated groundworks packages for leading national and regional housebuilders. Known for quality delivery, strong health & safety standards, and longstanding client relationships.


The Role

The Site Manager will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of housing infrastructure projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing site operations, subcontractors, and direct labour

  • Overseeing health, safety, and environmental compliance

  • Coordinating with clients, consultants, and local authorities

  • Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to senior management

  • Ensuring quality standards and specifications are achieved

  • Managing site documentation and RAMS

Projects typically involve roads, sewers (Section 38/278 and 104), drainage, and associated infrastructure works.


Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering

  • Strong background in housing infrastructure and groundworks

  • Demonstrable knowledge of roads, drainage, and sewer installations

  • SMSTS, CSCS (Management level), and First Aid certification

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain programme delivery


Remuneration

 

£45,000 to £50,000 per annum plus vehicle
