An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established civil engineering subcontractor delivering housing infrastructure projects across the North East of England. The Company
A respected civil engineering subcontractor with a strong regional presence and a proven track record in housing infrastructure. The business delivers roads, sewers, drainage, and associated groundworks packages for leading national and regional housebuilders. Known for quality delivery, strong health & safety standards, and longstanding client relationships.
The Role
The Site Manager will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of housing infrastructure projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing site operations, subcontractors, and direct labour

Overseeing health, safety, and environmental compliance

Coordinating with clients, consultants, and local authorities

Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to senior management

Ensuring quality standards and specifications are achieved

Managing site documentation and RAMS
Projects typically involve roads, sewers (Section 38/278 and 104), drainage, and associated infrastructure works.
Experience Required

Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering

Strong background in housing infrastructure and groundworks

Demonstrable knowledge of roads, drainage, and sewer installations

SMSTS, CSCS (Management level), and First Aid certification

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain programme delivery
Remuneration
£45,000 to £50,000 per annum plus vehicle
