An reputable main contractor is looking for an experienced and motivated Site Manager who will oversee a new build social housing development in Sunderland. The successful candidate will work alongside the Project Manager and play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of housing units to programme, budget, and quality standards
The Role
- Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site operatives.
- Monitor construction progress against programme and report on any delays or issues.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure homes are delivered to the highest standards.
- Support site inductions, toolbox talks, and health and safety audits.
- Assist with maintaining site records, documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure materials and resources are available and effectively managed.
- Support customer care and defect management processes where required.
- Promote a positive site culture focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a manager in New Build developments
- Strong understanding of construction methods, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, used to working with clerk of works and the client
- Relevant qualifications SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid are essential
