A requirement for an experienced Site Manager within the new build housing sector is required in York
Key Responsibilities include:
- Manage the day-to-day running of the construction site.
- Lead and coordinate subcontractors, trades and site operatives.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor progress against the construction programme and identify potential delays.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Carry out regular site inspections and ensure works meet drawings, specifications and building regulations.
- Coordinate materials, plant and labour requirements.
- Manage site paperwork, records, reports and quality documentation.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, building control and other project stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve construction issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure the site is maintained in a clean, organised and professional manner.
- Support the successful handover and completion of plots.
Experience required:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within new build housing/residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A strong eye for quality and attention to detail.
- The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and programme management.
- The confidence to lead a site team and drive performance.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality homes safely and efficiently.
- Relevant SMSTS/CSCS and First Aid are essential
