Overview
Stakeholder & Public Liaison Officer required for a civil engineering business as they carry out a range of project across the West Yorkshire area.  This is a full-time, permanent role and will largely be based out and about visiting the projects across the region.


The Role
If successful, you will be the primary point of contact for members of the public and key stakeholders affected by ongoing construction activities, providing a high standard of customer service and ensuring all communications are managed clearly and efficiently. The postholder will work collaboratively with the internal departments to maintain consistent and coordinated messaging and will oversee the operation of any on site visitor centre (if applicable) during designated opening hours when required.

As the face of the business you will engage with people living in the area and businesses located in the area.  This could range from answering general questions, sending any insurance claims to the relevant department and ensuring that all emails are dealt with appropriately.  Furthermore, you will be the point of contact for complaints, ensuring they are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.

Some large projects have visitor centres, and the Officer will be in attendance during opening hours when required to facilitate visits from schools, universities or construction bodies.

When not busy on site, you will prepare and weekly / monthly reports as required by the site team, client and internal comms team.  You will also attend monthly progress meetings to provide updates on stakeholder communications and outline any issues. Organising PR or social value events (where applicable) will be part of this role too.

The salary offered is circa £30,000 to £32,000 plus business mileage.

The Person
Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and a good solid working background in public engagement – be that in business, education or the general public.  They will also need to have strong IT skills, and the ability to work unsupervised.

Remuneration
£30,000 to £32,000 per annum
